In this article entitled Google Madness, Adam Dorfman, provides eight tips on how to enhance your Google+ listing. This is the business listing you can see on a search page when you look for a particular local business like ‘plumber’ or ‘dentist’. Google normally lists seven businesses, but can show less.
The Google business listing (or local listing) is an important spot to be found if you want more exposure for your business. Often the listing is at the top of the page just under Google ads.
Which businesses are listed seems to fluctuate and appears at times to be controlled by the whims of Google. Mr. Dorfman outlines some tips on how to help your business do better in the listing. One of his recommendations is getting more reviews. He says that “If a business has received five reviews in the last month, Google is likely to prioritize it over a business which has received five reviews in the last year. Businesses should be sure and ask customers to provide a review at every opportunity and consider ways to reward them for doing so.”
Of course, he is talking primarily about Google reviews in this case. To read more on the topic, go here: Google Madness
