Check the video to learn how to set up a free Google alert to get an email alert any time someone uses your name or the name of your business on the web.
This is not a complete system as it will not pick up comments about you or your business in directories like Yelp or Yellow Pages unless they are specifically mentioned — which they normally are not since people are leaving comments on your listing (which is already titled).
It is useful, however, for tracking mentions of your name on the web (outside of directories) or for any other term you ask Google to track for you. For example, you can track ‘dog training’ and Google will send you an email with links to new articles or posts on that topic.
